Work Process About

The Bow Bells building sits in historic Cheapside, near St Mary-le-Bow Church and its iconic bells. We developed a refined visual identity that draws on this heritage, creating a sophisticated and flexible brand to complement the refurbished space.

The Brief

Located at the heart of Cheapside alongside St Mary-le-Bow Church, a landmark of the area’s heritage, the Bow Bells building underwent a major refurbishment. The reception space was designed to set the tone with elevated details and intentional design choices, creating an experience that feels both luxurious and welcoming. The brief was to develop a visual identity that reflects this refined quality and draws inspiration from the historic bells, creating a flexible, sophisticated system rooted in place while supporting a contemporary, elevated experience.

The Solution

Our concept responds to the building’s thoughtful refurbishment, creating an identity that enhances the overall experience. Inspired by the understated elegance of boutique hotels, we developed a refined visual language across art direction, typography, and colour. Central to the identity is the idea of resonance, drawn from the historic bells. This is expressed through a distinctive visual treatment applied across typography and brand visuals, with a marque inspired by the floral motifs found on the bells, forming a sophisticated identity.
